WHAT IS A CREST HOME?

The term generally used to describe a Crest home is “Modular”.   Crest Homes are “built” under environmentally controlled conditions (out of the weather) and delivered on “carriers” to the site in “modules” for completion.

Each mid-western state has codes that control how homes are site constructed.   Crest homes builds to those codes with include C.A.B.O., O.B.B.C., B.O.C.A., and U.B.C.

HOW IS A CREST HOME DIFFERENT FROM A “SITE BUILT” HOME?

When you think about construction, you may realize that “site-built” homes really are not “built”, but they assembled.   Builders purchase their building components (IE roof rafters, pre-cut studs, floor joist decking, cabinets, windows, doors, drywall, shingles, wire, bath fixtures, floor coverings, etc.) from local building supply companies or lumberyards.   These components are delivered to the site by truck and then assembled.   Components are trimmed or cut to size with an assortment of hand tools.   Crest, by contrast, purchases brand name material directly from the manufacturer in huge quantities and then assembles the components out of the weather.   Key components of the home, roof, floors, and walls, are all assembled on precision jigs.   The Crest mill room has saws costing more than $10,000 each to precisely cut material to size.   The Crest employee has the benefit of a pleasant working environment and equipment to do the job right.

So how is the Crest home different from a site built home? In Crests opinion, the Crest home is better.   However, you be the judge.   Please compare the Crest home specifications with any home built.   Each Crest Builder has a model home for you to view and Crest encourages visits to the Crest assembly plant in Middlebury, Indiana.

Crest Modular Homes are currently building in the following states: IL,WI, IN, IA, KY, MI, MO,  and OH.
